Light and Freedom

For tomorrow over the wall
We'll fight
We'll climb
We'll fall
For the sunshine on our skin
We'll walk forever
To the light
Of a day in freedom
For the birds free from cages
Gilded though they be

The freedom of the ages
Of time not yet forgot
Of time for you and me
Searching for the gateway
Through the wall of hate
Trying to reach the other side
Before our time is gone
For tomorrow edges closer
And night almost be dawn
Now someone reached a hand down
A foothold did appear
The top is almost in sight
The wall is nearly past
Sunlight getting brighter
In the golden blue up high
Rain is fading fast
Clouds scudding across the sky
Away from our future
Our today over the wall

An intriguing poem, beautifully written. As with your subsequent poems, you trigger soul searching and familiar feelings,

excellent, thank you,

Pam
