My Christmas Wish

In these times of joy
For all girls and boys
Remember to give a smile
For the days of yule
And all things cool
Should be enjoyed all the while

As you pull your bows
And tear your wraps
And exclaim in wonder and awe
Give a moment of thought for a child forgot
In a world of rich and poor

Look at the world
Where many are lost
But forget not those close to home
For a child nearby is easy to miss
When the children so far are shown

Charity, so they say
Is meant to begin at home
But Christmas time when all is gay
Is when charities begin to roam

Reach out your hand to the one you love
But reach out your heart to a stranger
Be a friend to the people in your life
Be a hero to a child in danger
Give a gift that brings a smile

Christmas trees and ringing bells
Santa Claus and all his elves
Good will to man, woman and child
Take just a moment and give a smile
Make a difference every day
And learn the truth
Life repays

The Mirror

What do you see
Behind your sad eyes
When you hear the music
Of years gone by

What do you hear
In the wind's lonely sigh
As you look at the past
And say your goodbyes

What kind of memories
Dwell in your heart
Dreams built on happiness
Lost in the dark

Who are you when you look deep inside
Where do you go when you need to hide
Do you have anyone to come to your aid
Or are you alone again

Where did the days go
Whwn we had forever
When we could have had everything
When we knew it all

Where did time go
We know no tomorrow
The future just dreams
Of memories yet to be

What do you feel
When you think of friends, family
Strangers and enemies
Lost in the pages of history

What do you see
Through the eyes in the mirror
Someone to target
Or someone to remember

Under The Red Light

She walks out into the darkness
Clutching her battered dreams
Just another broken soul
Her life coming apart at the seams
Waiting for someone to save her
Listening to all of their lies
Does it ever get better
Or do we just say goodbye

Standing on the corner
Selling all she has
Wishing for a better way
Just fightig to survive
No on knows what she has done
How she's had to get by
Going on till morning
To face the brutal daylight

She can't hide anymore
The truth is breaking free
Unlike a girl wh's given up
On who she wants to be
What's left for her
Where can she go
When she's someone else
She doesn't want to know
