Look Again

What do you see
When you look at me
A woman, a child, something in between?
What do you think
If you think of me
What a waste, what a shame, what a pity?
Look again.
What do I see
When I look at you
A man, a boy, a little of both!
What do I think
When I think of you
A wish, a dream, a moment, a chance!
Look again.

I go a little crazy
When I'm on my own
Thinking of things
Not meant for one.
Taking chances makes sense
In the dark of the night.
Alone in the moment
Your voice in my ear
Touching my senses
So soft, so right.

What do you see
When you look at me
Who I am
A woman, nervous, shy, confused by the rules of the game?
What do you think
If you think of me
Anything but of the woman you see?
Look again.
What do I see when I look at you
A man who doesn't seem to see
The woman looking at him!
What do I think
When I think of you
Take a moment
Look again.

Life is too short
I learned long ago
To waste time regretting
Moments not lived
Chances not taken
Life slipping by
So I ask
One last question
Hello...
Or Goodbye?
